It is very important to note, just as any engraving machine or handpiece an important part of engraving is obtaining gravers (the blades) and learning the intricate techniques involved with sharpening them. Sharpening your gravers should be as much importance as the machine or handpiece you choose. Gravers are sold separately by two recommended companies: Lyndsay and GRS, which are not affiliated with E3 Engraving.

Also, it doesn’t matter how expensive your equipment is, you must put in the PRACTICE to understand the flow of engraving into the metal. Think of it like swimming. You may know how to swim, and the technique, but it takes practice to learn how to flow with the water. It’s the same with engraving metal, there is a balance between the depth, hand pressure, and control to achieve a perfect cut. The better your technique the faster your graver will cut into the metal. Advise: Practice on aluminum at least 100-200 hours before touching steel. Do not engrave stainless steel or hardened steel, it will be detrimental to your experience and engraving journey.

As with any art, do not rush, it will come with time, and with a lot of practice, that time will be faster than you think.
